My wife and I planned a vacation through jetsetvacations.com for a vacation to Costa Rica. We had been planning on this trip for 2 years as a honeymoon we never were able to take. Jetset said to be sure we had the proper travel documents, which we double checked and triple checked using the US Customs page online for travel requirements to Costa Rica, and we did Google searches for info as well to be sure we wouldn't get stuck in a situation where we didn't have the proper information. We were fully aware of a rule stating if one of our passports was going to expire within 6 months we wouldn't be allowed to travel. My wife's passport expired in 5 and a 1/2 months from the time we booked the vacation with jetset and they didn't mention any problem with the passport expiration date. When we arrived at the airport, TACA Airlines rejected my wife's travel ability and said that if the passport expired within 3 months she couldn't fly but no one could show us proof of this rule. We went to US Customs who said my wife could fly no problem, we went to the Colombian embassy who verified that my wife, who is a Colombian citizen, was 100% okay to fly and even gave us a validating letter stating this issue should be no issue at all. TACA and jetset work closely with each other and we were assured by Jetset that they had strong ties with TACA and would get it figured out for us. Needless to say it's been almost 2 months since this happened and we have never heard a word from Jetset.
