I also recently stayed at the Hotel Monaco. I think it was on the 6th or 7th of October. They didn't tell me about the water situation either. I found out from a guest who rode the elevator with me to my floor. I was really upset. Also, there wasn't a manager on duty. They told me the General Manager was away on business.
The fact that they lied to me just so I would register is amazing. I also came here on business and stayed there because when I looked at the travel sites, the hotel seemed reputable.
Same result when I asked for a refund, they flatly refused. How can you charge for a room when it doesn't have any running water? I had the go to the bathroom, but couldn't. I had to wait until the bakery across the street opened.
Someone should call the Health Department on them as well. They had their restaurant open without water. How did they hope to wash dishes? This makes me sick to think about.
Golly I am so mad at them for ripping me off. Thanks Ed for this great site to vent.
