Take Me On Vacation
Con artists

On the 8th March I received a call from a sales representative by the name of Colin Fraser discussing a package which he said I was chosen for by filling out an online survey. It was to go to Orlando, Florida for 7 days, then on a 2 night cruise ship on the SS Imperial Majesty to the Bahamas and then Ft. Lauderdale for another seven days for $800, which is 75% off the cost price. He said that he needed my card details. I told him I would not give my card details over the phone and I would like to see everything in writing first. He said that there were only a few of these promotion deals available and would need my card details for pre-authorisation purposes only and would not deduct any money without my confirmation. I reconfirmed to him by giving him my details I do not authorise any money to be deducted off my account. He agreed and I handed over my card details.

Next I was put on to a third party, a guy by the name of Frank Thomas who works in the verification department. He said he would set up a recording of the confirmation and went through some details, then at the point of when he said can I give confirmation to deduct $800 off of my card, I said no, that I discussed with Colin Fraser that I would like to see everything in writing before committing to anything. He then said he would stop the recording and pass me back to Colin to go through a few more things, as I obviously didn't understand. I understood fully, I just didn't want to pay for anything until I had seen it in writing.

I did not get put through to Colin, but someone else who I told that I am not authorising any payment. He said that the money has already gone out of my account. I was furious as I had never once given any type of authorisation for this to happen during the telephone conversation. We argued for ages and then he said that he would put it back in and give the promotion to someone else and slammed down the phone.

I check my bank details immediately, and saw that the money had been taken out of my account. It has now been two weeks, and the money has still not been put back into my account. It hasn't come off the Current Balance, so my bank can't do a debit dispute, it has come off my available balance, and I am getting charged interest as it has taken me into my overdraft.

Take me on Vacation haven't replied to my letters or e-mails. This is some huge money making scam and DONT HAND OVER ANY CARD DETAILS TO THEM, EVEN IF IT IS JUST FOR "PRE-AUTHORISATION ONLY" PURPOSES.
