I contacted [email protected] (also by phone), having picked up their contact info through a Indian Newspaper Advtz'ment. Spoke with Pamela and Vikram at different times on March 22nd for roundtrip travel in July-Aug (from SFO to India).
They send me first an itinerary and fare quote on Emirates. I called the airlines to verify that the tickets were valid. After checking the bookings were valid, and went ahead and deposited the money for the tickets via a B of A account they gave me. I only made a 50%deposit first ($3200). I deposited the balance of the money ($4750) after I got the eticket receipts for the other 3 passengers, did not suspect anything wrong as they promised the eticket for the 5th passenger is being issued and will come through shortly.
I could not get any responses to emails phone calls, even after many attempts. I contacted the India West magazine to find out about the NJ business office., and came to find that that there were various other complaints., and several others were scammed for tickets the same way.
I checked with the airlines since this past weekend only to have them confirm that although the booking reference #'s were valid, the tickets were purhased through a stolen credit card and hence have become invalid.
So I am out for a total of $7950 from these guys. I hope some of the others can come forward to report similar scam incidents so this might be enough for the local NJ investigation offices to get after and find these guys.
