After settling on the Maverick Motor Inn for its cheap look and prices, we soon found out we to pay the price fir being so frugal. Feeling insulted after the terrible customer service i received on the phone we continued to make our way to the Hotel/Motor Inn (?) Upon arriving my sister kindly used her visa number to put down for the damage deposit you have to do at all hotels now a days, we thought that by now, in 2011 it would be safe to give a local company your credit card number.
My sister wasn't actually staying at the hotel; a fatal fact i unfortunately forgot to inform the female behind the desk (i can't even think of a title for her "career" when you work at a motor inn.) When my other guests arrived we started to move our things into the room, which we barely had done before the Rip Off started. MY friend unfortunately tried to use the customer service at the front desk to find out when the pool closes. He was met with an "11 0 clock" and soon after wards a very abrupt and random DEMAND for Identification. Completely puzzled he finds me to talk to the delightful lady, where I am informed that we are suspicious, and she wants to see the girl who put down her visa. My sister was nice enough to drive me to the hotel, and use her visa, I wasn't calling her back up there for this BS.
Not possible I said. She told us that what we were doing was very shady, getting my sister to put her visa up for a damage deposit (because she knows we're not going to do anything, besides stay in the hotel, and maybe use the pool and slide; the only attractive thing about the entire establishment,) while she wasnt actually staying there. I'm still confused as to how we could have taken advantage of them in this situation, cause after dealing with this business I'm surprised they cared about anything we did after thy got their greasy fingers on the credit card number.insulted, fed up, we packed up i things, i talked to the lady at the front desk explained how everything was taken from the room, here are the keys, and there better not be any charge on that visa!"Well its up to the manager, but you guys didnt stay in the room so he probably wont charge you"
Well apparently us moving our bags into the room, and promptly out of the room stirred up such a mess in the room it had to be "recleaned" (no details on what had to be cleaned) because we tried to stay in that room, but were unable to, we also made apparently it impossible to rent out to anyone else that night, and within less than 12 hours of staying there, I'm sure, the visa was charged for the price of one night.
No amount of talking, reasoning, questioning, or explaining could get anything more than a "sorry, I'm in the "Inn Hospitality" business, i gotta make money" This was coming from the manager of the establishment. Whom I had to request to call me after the desk lady already hung up on my once, and seemed hesitant to let me talk to said manager. I got sick of hearing this no-balls scam artist feed me his lies over the phone so I went to the Motor Inn, and talked to him in person. Can't say I'm surprised I couldn't get "Patrick" to cough up a penny, but it didn't make it any better.
The entire experience was terrible start to finish. I can definitely understand where the hotel is coming from on certain points, about it being a little suspicious, but the manner in which they acted upon their suspicions was ludicrous, and expensive for me. I have every plan to continue contacting the hotel, until i feel some justice is served. Please people, spend your money somewhere else, these people don't care, at all about their jobs, about customer service. They got the credit card number, and whether i was staying or not, they knew they were gonna make some money.
