A friend of mine had been staying at the hotel. I paid for 1 night on my personal credit card, making it clear to the front desk that I was not going to be a guest in the room and my card was not to be charged anything extra.
My card was charged significantly. When I called to check on the charge, the lady was extremely rude, saying that I stayed there and I broke something, which is a complete lie. She would not give me her name, though I believe she was the manager, and she would not even let me speak, more less refund my money.
The hotel did not follow procedure and take a cash deposit from person staying in the room, whom paid cash. Therefor, they used my credit card for deposit. I am a recent Hotel Manager and not only is this unethical practice, it's bad business.
