Booked a Suite for my Daughters Birthday Party and the AC was broken... Promised Refund and they never paid

This place is a rip off. From the website, it's very hard to see that this is not "really" a hotel... It's a residential apartment complex. You are really staying in vacant (cheaply furnished) apartment... Not a resort/hotel room.

We booked this room for our Daughters birthday party... When we arrived (middle of summer in AZ) the room was extremely uncomfortable... We checked the AC unit and it didn't appear to be blowing cold air. I called withing minutes of our arrival, knowing that we had limited time before the office closed. I was hoping we'd get another room... They said to give the air some time as it had been off all day. We are reasonable people, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt... My wife took the kids to the pool and I awaited to monitor the AC.

Within 15 minutes the kids came back through the front door explaining that they were asked to leave the pool. Sonoran Suites and the Apartment Complex obviously have some communication issues... We were told, only residents can use the pool. I called the office yet again and explained that issue, as well as the AC problem. They told me that we could most certainly use the pool and to just IGNORE the property manager? Ok... Well. Doesn't that put the customer in a weird position? Imposition?

We waited yet a couple more hours to see if the room cooled off. It ended up never getting below 89F in the apartment... The kids were uncomfortable and our cake was literally melting. I called the office and left a message that we couldn't stay (after hours) and I'd contact them in the morning.

When I contacted Sonoran Suites the next day, I calmly explained the situation and the Service Rep told me that I'd get a full refund. He apologized and asked me to put down my experience in an email. I did and sent it off...

A couple months later, I wrote a followup email asking about the "Promised" refund and was wondering why nobody had contacted me? Approximately a day later I received an email saying that I was NOT going to receive a refund. The message read that they reviewed my "reservation" and they decided that they saw no need to refund my money"... And that the employee did not have the power to offer that refund. I will be contacting the Attn General and any other consumer warning sites...
