My Son and I booked a trip earlier this year on Expedia.com. Expedia offers BerkleyCare Travel Insurance so if something should go awry. Ie. Medical condition, you can secure a refund.
My son has a stomach disease and we often get medical insurance just in case he can't travel. When his disease flared prior to this trip, I was left with no choice but to cancel the trip.
I filed a claim with BerkleyCare. They asked for additional medical records which we produced from his Specialists and the Hospitals he had been associated with over the past 4 years.
We received a letter back indicating that they didn't cover that kind of medical condition and they could not provide a refund.
This is not a matter of reading the fine print. This is another example of an Insurance Company finding a loophole or gap, to ensure that they don't have to pay out funds.
I will never take out Travel Insurance with BerkleyCare again.
