Beware of: Jus' Bikes, Jus Bikes, Ron Lankford - Chincoteague Island

Complaint:
I arrived at jus bikes and signed the rental agreement at, 11:30 am. Received the keys and went out to get into the rented, Scoot Coupe. Another worker spent another 10-15 minutes going over how to operate the moped.
I left Jus' Bikes at around 11:45pm and headed across to Assateague island, I soon realized that the odometer wasn't working and thinking that the 'scoot coup' was considered a type of 'moped' and having some background knowledge in law enforcement, knowing that improper equipment was not an excuse, I returned the scoot coupe to the owner, Ron Lankford, to report the problem.
Documentation, Documentation, Documentation... I first spoke to the young girl behind the desk. And told her of the problem and told her that I didn't want to break any laws and I am returning the vehicle to them. She NEVER offered to give me a replacement vehicle and instead insisted that I pay for a full hours use. (When in fact I only used a fraction of that time..) I accidentally left the video camera which was hanging around my neck on and recording all of this. Oops (which I may put on youtube and other video sites later so other people can see what jerks these people are to deal with... Again, I explained, The odometer didn't work and it is illegal to rent out motor vehicles that are not safe and within the bounderies of the law... Having improper working equipment is against the law and besides according Virginia Code section 46.2-100, they must stay under 30 mph, and without a working odometer, you would be breaking the law.., The woman behind the desk stated, Most of the scoot coup vehicles odometer's dont' work and no one has a problem with it...
I went ahead and gave her the money and requested a reciept and then proceeded outside to speak with Mr. Ron Lankford, the owner.
I also told him the same story and told him that what he was doing was terrible. He made it clear that he could care less and that I wouldn't get a refund. He stated that his charge is per hour and that regardless whether or not the odometer worked or not, I had to pay for the use of the broken scoot coupe. (A REAL SCAMMER!)
(This means that he doesn't care whether or not his equipment is crap and unsafe. If you sign to rent it - You get it and have to pay for the unsafe item... Even if it means that he is in breach of the contract for breaking the law for failing to provide an item that are within the boundaries of the law...)
I will be filing complaints to the city and town of Chincoteague for allowing unsafe automobiles on their streets. If they fail to do anything or take appropriate action, then I will take it further and file complaints and send out press releases about them personally and warn potential vacationers to stay away from chincoteague due to the scams which plague the little island. Especially the scam that Jus Bikes and Ron Langford are running...
Years ago, We lived in Chincoteague... My father passed passed away back in 1994 and I hadn't been there since 1983... Looking back and having dealt with this incident. It is sickening to see what Chincoteague has become. It is clear that it is turned into a place for scammers. It's certainly not the friendly, family place that myself, my brother and sister went to school at and where we once lived... On this trip, I had took my 6 year old son and wife there for the first time in hopes of buying a vacation home and visiting quite often, however, after dealing with Ron Lankford, A real Bozo, I can tell you now that it is the last trip to Chincoteague! Who wants to deal with idiots that have absolutely no ethics, morals or standards...
