Bottom line, STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOUSY COMPANY, but if you feel you really need to use them to buy an airline ticket, you should completely ignore their so-called "seat selection" service. THEY DO NOT RESERVE SEATS FOR YOU, even though they offer you a sham seat selection service! If you feel you must use Priceline (really you shouldn't) and buy a ticket, immediately after purchase you need to contact the airline directly to select your seats, because otherwise you will be STUCK WITHOUT AN ASSIGNED SEAT BEFORE YOUR FLIGHT - and that's what happened to us! When I called Priceline's "customer service" to ask for help, they of course pointed to the usual "disclaimers, " on their website: seat selections are not "guaranteed, " blah blah blah. Hey priceline, try this: 1) don't offer a service you can't provide, 2) if you fail to reserve a seat for a customer, send them a message early on so they have time to get their own seat directly. I'm never using Priceline again - I've used Expedia and Orbitz before and NEVER had this kind of problem.
