I stayed at the L'Hoste Hotel http://www.hostehotel.com and was treated very badly. My first night at the hotel I was on the deck by the beach and all the employees brought in a bottle of wine from outside and opened it and started to drink wine. On Sunday, I decided to do the same. I went out on the deck and wanted to have some wine. I politely asked once of the employees if he could open the bottle of wine for me. He said; "No you can't do that. Take that away." I then proceeded back to my hotel and then came back on the deck. I asked the same gentelman politely non-confrontatinoal why it was ok for all employees to drink wine and that there was no sign and I didn't know. At the same time anther guy who claimed to be the owner who I then found out was only the manager came out screaming. I seriously think he was taking drunks because he came over and said. "I will put you to sleep in two minutes.in two minutes you are sleeping and says you can find another hotel to sleep in tonight. I was shocked. Just to make my audience clear. I am a laid back business owner and respectful adult that follows rules. This was shocking. Then that same guy that was the manager told me. "You understand English?" I said; "Yes" He then said; "F*K YOU" and kicked me out of the hotel. He was being verbally abusive and the entire time I was trying to defuse the situation. Nothing worked; I said "can I talk to you, I don't want to argue and he said"I am not talking to anybody this is my hotel if you don't like it go back to America"
He still charged my card and kicked me out of my hotel for asking a question. My guess is that when you leave the US you have no rights as a traveler. If anyone has any advice at least to get my charges reversed please let me know. I'm still hurt about being discriminated and verbally abused but I guess I have to live with that.
