I got a "screening" call in the morning and was asked a few questions. THe girl, who didn't give me her name, but had my first name, said she would submit the info and someone MAY call me.
Sure enough, two hours later I got a call from "Scott Phillips" telling me they had a GUARANTEED BUYER for my timeshare. He ran his "dog and pony show" without asking for money for a few minutes.
Once I realized that I had to pay about $1400 upfront to receive the "COntract" which was GUARANTEED I went into protect mode.
I was an Escrow Officer previously, so I asked very pointed questions. "Scott" was pretty good with his answers, well prepared - he was schooled very well but the answers were not all on the up and up.
Once I realized he wanted a Credit Card or Check by phone (yeah right) I told him I would get back to him after talking to "my lawyer".
I contacted my CC company to see how protected I would be in the transaction. THe woman in the Dispute Department was GREAT!
As soon as I explained the situation she told me "Don't you dare give them your CC I have seen this same situation 110's of times. THEY ARE A RIPOFF!!!" - Her words exactly.
She said once yu give someone your CC number over the phone that effectively gives them the right to use it and you are not protected 100%.
Well, I couldn't thank her enough. She was funny - she said she would put a note on my account that if I tried to charge it for this service that I was to be kicked out of system -:):):)
THE BOTTOM LINE - DO NOT TRUST COASTAL PREMIER!!!
