As I currently type this I am in Fort Lauderdale. I use to be that stupid consumer who had read those terrible comments about Imperial Majesty/Ramada Plaza vacations. My significant other and I both thought people were just being picky about the services they had recieved from this travel agency and thought we would give them a chance. We had recieved all the travel documents which we thought were "ok" and boarded the plane. We arrived in FLL (Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International) around 1:30 this afternoon. We went to the car rental agency in which our "7 day rental car" was suppose to be located. Which was suppose to be INCLUDED in our package. The lady ran our information and registration and ended with "that will be $482.95 for the week." We looked at one another in shock. We told her no way, contacted the company and wanted some answers. They hung up on us 3 TIMES! No exaggerations. I know half of you won't believe us because we were the same STUPID people. You will believe us when you are 1500 miles away from home and stranded in an airport like we were. We contacted our family members who are professionals in the legal world and had them contact the company because we were not getting anywhere with them. They began to tell one of our family members that were aware of the "hidden fees" before booking. First of all what kind of travel agency tells you word for word "now dont forget there will be hundreds of dollars in hidden fees." None thats what I thought. The family member asked to be faxed all documents given to us to examine any small font print. They refused to fax and said they could only mail them the documents. The family member also said they heard at the beginning of the conversation "all conversations will be recorded." They asked the so called manager to hear all phone conversations that took place with us to see if we misunderstood anything they said about "hidden fees". They refused ONCE AGAIN and said they would make the conversations available under court order. After the family member said your company is a complete and utter scam the SO CALLED manager hung up on them. What kind of travel agency would do that? We were literally stranded at the airport for 4 hours. We camped out with our laptops and cell phones plugged in making the necessary phone calls and internet searches to find a hotel for the duration of our trip. I now type this sitting in a lovely NORMAL hotel room, ocean front, pleasant resort in hollywood, fl. Thank the lord we had enough savings to pay for ANOTHER hotel for our vacation. I beg you to believe us. I will not give up on getting my $820.00 dollars back and stopping this from happening to another poor soul. We leave in the morning to go to the travel agency. We are going to confront them face to face. I will update.
