We have just returned from a 6 day stay at the Hotel Icaria Barcelona. When we came to pay for our stay we were told by Hotel Icaria that the 260.01 deposit was (apparently) a charge from CentralR.com for booking the hotel stay. Hotel Icaria said that if we had booked directly with the hotel (which is actually what we thought we were doing as we had identified the hotel through its web site) it would have only cost us the 1,473. This is what we had to pay the hotel anyway. How can CentralR.com possibly justify charging 260 euros on a 1473 euro booking (18%)?
Beware this rip off. Never use CentralR. Phone the hotel direct. Although the international phone call may cost quite a bit it will ensure you do not get ripped off.
