I filed a claim for reimbursement with appropriate doctor's form, etc. For a $750 airline ticket. I was stunned when Access America found a loophole within which to deny my claim ("read the fine print, " my dear).
After following all appeal instructions, with further documentation from yet another physician, I waited two months only to find out that the appeal had never been filed and that I was back to square one. Apparently all of my appeal paperwork, so carefully gathered and mailed to the Richmond, VA, address, had fallen down some black hole to nowhere.
This company has the most outrageously appalling customer service I've ever experienced. Worse than the average health insurance company, which is saying a lot. I am of a mind to contact the Better Business Bureau as well as write each airline and airline travel magazine with a letter of complaint, hoping they will take the letter, publish it, and thus encourage fellow travelers to avoid this rip-off of an insurance company at all costs.
