My husband signed up for the ramada resort rip off without my knowledge. We finally decided to make the trip after we were told that the $600 we paid would be lost if we did not take the trip within six months. I read the rip off report, purely by accident, two weeks before we were to leave.
My husband and i are very well traveled and have been to many domestic and foreign locations. The car that was supposed to be "free" for the trip was declined after we learned that it would only fit two adults and our luggage.
The hotel we were placed at is an older ramada on a busy freeway location. I am aware of the fact that many hotels in orlando offer great rates and i am sure that we would have easily been able to find a much nicer place for $50 a night. There is no way that the hotel they put us at was worth anywhere near the $125 daily that it ended up costing (5 nights cost $600).
I know that part of the scam is the claim that you also get three days in vegas and a weekend in virginia, however, i am not willing to go to vegas and stay at a third class hotel and sit through a time share spiel just to try to get my moneys worth.
We did not take part in the time share session and chose to get five two day passes to universal from another time share company. Thanks for having this forum for ripped off consumers.
