Ramada Plaza Resorts Vacations
Rip-off failure to provide information does not meet customer satisfaction florida

In april of i recieved a letter in the mail

Stating this wonderful oppurtunity to take a fort

Lauderdale/orlando vacation at the ramada plaza resort.

Included in the package was also a 2 night cruise to

Nasseu, bahamas making the package a whole 7 days. I

Took adavantage of this package and agreed to put a down

Payment of $598.00 and will pay the remaining $500.00 at

Time of reservation. I had up until october to

Book.in october of i called the company, stating

That i could not take the vacation after all due to

Personal issues. They offered to extend the package for

1 more year for $50.00.in doing so, i did not recieve a

Confirmation nor a letter saying that my package was

Extended or will expire in october. So like any

Other busy business woman, i went about my life and

Gradually watched 2001 fly along with 2002. It is now

March 5 and foolishly, i had forgotten about my

Vacation. However, i did not recieve any notice or

Reminders of this so called responsible and wonderful

Organization. Wouldn't you think if i had given a

Company $598.00 they would at least, at least! Send me a

Notice of some sort??? So i called march 5 and

Wanted to finally book my vacation with the company

Since i have not heard from them nor have they heard

From me. I wanted to either book it or get my money

Back. When i made the phone call, the telemarketer

Explained to me that my package was expired, but if i

Were to pay $898.00, i would be able to extend the

Package to a better one of 9 nights instead of 7. At

First, i didn't get upset nor had any complaints. I

Figured the remaining balance i owed was $500.00 anyway,

Why not put in $300.00 more for a better vacation. Afer

All, i knew that the package was supposed to expire in

October of last year. So i was willing to pay a

Reasonable fee just to hold the package. After going

Over the package itinery, i had told the telemarketer

That i needed to consult with my significant other

Before committing to the upgrade. Now this is where i

Was upset. The telemarketer (which his name is howard by

The way) says i cannot get off the phone without paying

Any of extended fees to hold my package. Which was

Either $898.00 for the upgraded package or $500.00 for

The package i first bought. I explained that i could not

Affort that amount right now but i could pay a fee to

Extend my package deal until i knew for certain when and

What package we were going to take. But they refused and

Explained that if i were to get off the phone without

Paying any of the fees for the packages, my whole

Account would be dropped and i would not recieve the

$598.00 down payment i put down. I couldn't believe that

They were not going to allow me to confide with my

Partner first before making this sort of purchase. Come

On! I don't think anyone who is making what i make can

Just fork over $898.00 in one instance just to hang up

The phone and be reassured that my package vacation

Would still be available. If i didn't pay the money now

On the phone, i would loose the $598.00 deposit that i

Made. I was put in a poor situation and an

Unprofessional one at that. To me, this is a scam. I

Would think that being of an appropriate business and

Professional vacation agency, they would at least keep

In contact with their paying customers to inform and

Remind them of the time they have remaining to book

Their vacation. Another thing, i don't think that it is

Fair to put a person in a situation where they have to

Pay such a large amount of money just so that they won't

Loose a vacation package that they paid 1/2 of already!

I am totally upset and dissapointed to have fallen for a

Scam like that!
