ATA bankrupt Expedia confusion-no help. I've been on hold for 24 hours! Atlanta georgia

Dear Expedia,

This is the ninth time I am sending this e-mail. I will keep sending it until I get a response.

If you could forward this to a senior advisor I would appreciate it. I hope this can be resolved via e-mail since I live in Moscow, Russia and I have spent about a combined total of 24 hours on hold with Expedia and Midwest in the last 2 months.

When ATA went out of business two months ago I was told I had to send my tickets back to Expedia in order to expedite the ticket exchange. Only to be told that I really didn't need to send them back in the first place. I know Expedia wants to help me. I would have gladly paid the $173.86 when ATA first went out of business but since Expedia told me I needed to send my tickets to them the fare has gone up to $600 per ticket meaning that we would have to pay an extra $400 per ticket.

We are teachers and are just trying to get to Maui to see my friends get married. It is not fair that we are going to have to pay over $400 per ticket because Expedia said I needed to send in our tickets. I was also told only my tickets were sent back even though I put them all in the same envelope.

We shouldn't have to pay for the lost time that the tickets were in transit. We just received the tickets back here in Moscow last week. One of the last supervisors I talked to, Stewart, said we were booked on a new flight and we would just have to pay $173.86 per ticket. But when I called Midwest the next night they said Expedia has to put in the amount of the fare change since the tickets have gone up so much and nothing like that has been done.

At the moment no price is in their system so we will have to pay the full amount when we arrive in Boston at the end of June.By that time the tickets could be $1000 each. The below email makes it sound like when we arrive this summer to exchange tickets we will have to pay the full fare. I don't understand why I couldn't pay $173.86 back in March when all of this started? I'm tired of calling and I'm tired of being on hold and I can't afford an extra $1600-$3200 to pay for 4 tickets to Maui. Please help us, I know you would like to.

Kind Regards,
Bob

Dear Bob,

Thank you for contacting Expedia.com regarding the amount you will pay at the time you reissue the paper tickets with the new date and the new departure city which is Las Vegas on July 15. We want to apologize for any inconvinients this situation may have caused but at this point Midwest has taken the control of the reservation and because you have paper tickets, they require that you take them to their counter for reissue.

We contacted Midwest airlines, who is the main carrier for your flight reservation, and they confirmed to us that the amount you will pay for the change will be the current one available, the day you go to the Midwest counter with the paper tickets. This means that the fare of $173.86 that you were given previously can vary, since that was the current fare they had that day. We understand that they told you that we needed to put a note saying the amount to be paid, but we reconfirmed this information and as we told you previously, the current fare will apply.

The advise we can give you is to take the paper tickets as soon as possible to any Midwest counter since the fares may change from day to day. Midwest can provide you with an estimated amount over the phone depending the day you are planning to go to the counter with the paper tickets.

Best Regards,
