ACIS puts in fine print that additional charges may be incurred and does not provide any limitations or warnings to these charges. We were charged with an additional "weekend charge" of $40 because they decided to depart on a weekend, and another additional "fuel" surcharge of $89 although airline fuel prices have gone DOWN since we first signed up. There is no way to verify or justify the fees. When I contacted ACIS they were very rude and refused to provide documentation on any additional fees that may be incurred between the initial registration period and the actual trip date (about 6 months). We have met every payment deadline. ACIS simply refers you back to the fine print in their documentation which allows them to charge random fees throughout the process and they will NOT give you any warning - you'll simply see it in your invoice. It is impossible to get a full refund even though reportedly air tickets aren't purchased until the last minute, justifying the additional fuel charge. A trip to Costa Rica will end up costing $300 a day NOT including food. Having been to the country before, I can tell you that you could fly there, stay in luxury, with food and a bilingual tour guide on the same itinerary for about $1000 less.
