We too fell victim to the Ramada Scam. We were made all the same promises, free gas, free vacation... We told them no we did not want to buy but they kept bringing in different people with different pitches and deals and ways to allow us to purchase a last minute traded property in Orlando, that just came in and was a real good deal, only $15,000 (est), about half of what it is appraised for, so they said... Well, we fell for it, we let them manipulate us into buying the timeshare at their top of the line, no other best deal around, property, sight unseen...
Not only have we been making those monthly payments for a year but because of a medical illness, we got behind a couple months and are getting those friendly (right!) reminder calls about every two or three days wanting to know where all the payments are. I think I've dealt with four different callers now.
To top this off, we were told a couple months ago that Ramada changed their name to Leisure Homes. I'm not sure about this company, looks like Ramada sold out. Would love more information about the new company and whether we are stuck with this scam for life.
