Ripoff would not give a credit towards future use within 3 months

I just learned that Days Inns are individually owned and operated. Therefore if you must cancel your trip for any reason you can not get a refund or a voucher towards a future hotel stay. You are out the money!

My Son is at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Tx going through AIT training. He was to graduate the middle of May but is being held over. I had made hotel reservations for 3 days.

When I called to cancel with Days Inn I was informed that each hotel is individually owned and operated and I had to call that hotel directly. I did this and when I asked if I could get a credit towards a future stay the Manager asked when I would be using it. I stated I did not know that it could be as long as 3 months time. He gave me a very hard time and would not give me a credit towards a future stay. I stated that I would eat this one but would never stay at any Days Inn again. I feel that the Manager used unfair business practices.

I was not asking for a refund just a credit towards a future stay. If I didn't use the credit in the time alloted I would them forfeit and that would be on me.
