After sitting thru hours of presentation for the Great Escapes vacation club, my husband and I decided to join. They told us we could go to all of these places and stay in nice condos for a lifetime for about $6,000 up front and a couple hundred a year.
Well, after several years and no luck EVER getting a condo, I've figured out that they do not have condos anywhere during a peak season. The summer-forget it, winter break-forget it, spring break-you can get a condo in Tennessee.
This vacation club is a nightmare. They have way too many members and no available condos. I have tried getting a condo 6 months in advance, like they suggested, and still they have nothing. This is the biggest ripp-off of a company and I advise everyone to steer clear!!
