We expected not only a good night's rest, but a fine experience because we were paying a luxury rate for our stay in this hotel—$185.50. This was the worst hotel room I've ever spent the night in, in my entire life. The room was ice cold (like a cold storage room) because the air conditioning was set at a very cold temperature and not working correctly—it could not be regulated or turned off.
None of us could sleep comfortably, if at all (I, personally, only slept two hours because of it), and no help from the front desk was offered, they could not even get us any blankets. We were given sheets and a (one) bedspread at midnight.
A luxury room that cannot even provide blankets for $185.50!!! In any case, the sheets and bedspread didn't really help—it was that cold.
In the morning, we explained our complete dissatisfaction to the employees at the front desk. We were barely given an apology—perhaps simply a look of "oh well... That's too bad." The front desk did not offer to accomodate us in any way. To be charged $185.50 for one miserable night in a freezing hotel room, size not much larger than a pantry (the smallest hotel room I've ever slept in), no windows, an old extremely loudly banging elevator right in front of our door (3 feet away, and no noise insulation), and a dirty floor (!!)&this is absolutely scandalous.
