Charged my bank account double for their mistake

Due to unfortunate circumstances I had to fly my husband and his family from New York to Tampa Florida this week for 5 days. I booked the flights on Expedia, 2 seats for my husband and his brother on Delta and 2 seats for his sister and her daughter on US Air.

When his sister arrived at the US Air customer service area they could not find her booked and paid for flight, dispite the fact she had the itinerary from Expedia with her. Apparently, US Air called Expedia and got her on my husbands flight on Delta.

The same day I noticed on my online bank statement that my account was charged $797.40 twice.initally I thought it was an authorization charge, that hotels love to charge, and would be charged back to my account in a couple of days, until I decided to call US Air.

After 3 hours on the phone with Expedia, US Air, Delta and my bank I have been informed that this is an "accommodation fee". They explained to me that because they quickly accommodated his sister on another flight, that this is worthy of another $ 797.40 charge, on top of the flight charge that US air will forward to Delta for their flight taken.

I almost fell off of my chair, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I screamed, yelled, and fought with them for hours and nothing. I'm out almost $ 800.00 because the idiot customer service rep at the airport couldn't find my paid for flight. I can't believe that losing a reservation and making me pay for it again is considered accommodations to these morons.

If anyone has had the same experience, please let me know. I have never heard of this before in my life!!
