On April, 10 I had a flight from Charlotte, NC to Phoenix, AZ with US Airways. The flight was overbooked and I was given a "Transportation voucher good on any flight within the US, valid for 1 year"
First I thought "great, I can go anywhere I want for free" but very soon I realized that this voucher is just &*&*&.
The same month, in April I called them in order to use this voucher for a flight from Phoenix to Savannah, Ga. The response was: "Nothing available during the months May, June and July" I asked the agent: "what about Jacksonville, Fla" — "the same thing, no availability, the seats for these vouchers are very limited"
The next month I called to inquire if I could use it for a flight to New York in September. First I did not mention that I had a coupon and the agent told me, "No problem, at this point in time there are plenty of seats available, what time do you want to go?" When I mentioned that I wanted to use the voucher, it was "sorry, no availability in September and October"
Probably, by the time when something becomes "available" this coupon is going to be expired.
