As an active duty Navy member, I attempted to assist a student of mine get a plane ticket home. Some how, I actually purchased a plane ticket with my name on it.
After finding the charge for the ticket on my bank's website, I immediately called Priceline to see about a refund and was told to "pack sand".
I researched the company and found that I wasn't the only person that this had happened to. When I found the number for the Executive Offices and contacted them, they were even less help than the 800 number helpdesk.
I filed complaints with the supposed Better Business Bureau, the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs, and my bank, all resulted in no luck.
So, I end up having to clean out my emergency savings account in order to pay for a plane ticket that I never intended to buy and didn't use. What a crock!
