I was given a certificate for a mini vacation by a vacuum cleaner salesman for allowing him to demonstrate in my home. The MVI Marketing/Minivacations Inc. Certificate stated that a refundable deposit of $50.00 plus $20.00 for up to two children was to be sent with the request form for a 3 day 2 night trip to one of many locations.
I sent a check for $70.00 along with my vacation location request, amazingly the check was cashed within the week that it was sent and I received a letter dated January 12 stating that I should call the 800 number provided to finalize my travel plans.
I called daily and automatically got a message that due to heavy call volume my call could not be answered, thus I needed to call another time.
I checked BBB online and found a few similar complaints. I also found about 20 alternative phone numbers for this company.
I tried all of them, left messages and got one return call.
The caller stated that someone would contact me soon. I was never contacted. I sent a letter to MVI Marketing requesting my money back about a month ago, but of course I have yet to hear from anyone from MVI Marketing by phone nor by mail.
MVI Marketing has used the promise of a free vacation to steal $70.00 from my family.
