My sisters and I went to the Women of Faith Conference Feb. 23 through 25. (Very enjoyable). The room was booked through hotel.com for 3 nights.
We entered our room, it was dusty with a musty type smell. We lit air freshner candles to help with the smell (while we were in the room).
The cups for coffee were dirty. We did not use the coffee pot at all.
When we went to pull the bed down a tampon applicator fell out of the covers. My sister slept on top of the bed then.
The next morning we spoke to management with their apologies and their word that they would have the room well cleaned for us as well as the linens changed. This was acceptable to us. There were no other hotels available during our stay.
We went back to our room after 9:00 PM and the beds were made. There were no towels, cups were still dirty and room still musty smell. We went down and told the front desk that nothing was done other than the beds were made.
Again apologies and we were given towels and 3 breakfast vouchers, (like we would eat there?). We then decided to relax for the evening.
We turned the bed down about 11:00pm & this time a whole tampon fell out of the bed. Don't know if it was used but it was very disgusting to have this happen AGAIN!
We went to the lobby and was given a new room. It was filthy & musty. We took the key back and were told that there were no rooms available. We asked to speak to the manager and they could not get in touch with him till AM.
We told them that we needed a CLEAN room (as we had tried still to find another hotel with no success). Eventually we were given 5 or 6 rooms to look at ALL unacceptable.
We finally found an available room that was halfway decent but it was King only (there were 3 of us) it had to do. Believe me if we did not enjoy the Conference we would have been long gone back home.
Saturday was the last day of the Conference and our plans had been to stay over till Sunday but after the second incident we told the front desk we would not be staying.
The night before we were told that we would be reimbursed for our two nights. They did credit Saturday for us, but refused to credit Friday. We had no problem paying for one night at the time, but after all the hassles we had the second night we wanted that money back also.
We called hotel.com they talked to them and were told that no we would not be given any further money back. This is unacceptable and we are pursuing means to be reimbursed.
The brochure and website do show a lovely facility that we certainly did not see. We are notifying the Health Department as well.
