This past June my husband had to go to Ft. Worth, TX to take some classes at a university. He called a hotel in the area to make reservations and was told there was nothing available at the time he needed. He was asked if he would like a phone number for another hotel in the same price range and area. He said that he would like the number so he was given one. He called the number and made reservations using our debit card. About 10 days later, we got a notice from our bank that we were overdrawn. I called the next day to find out why and was told taht the charge for the hotel room had already been deducted from out account.

Well, to make a long story short, we finally found out that we had been given the number to a company that made the reservations for us. We much hard work we finally got the reservations cancelled and got our money back (they wanted to charge us to cancel but did not). Last Tuesday (October 17) I was reconciling our bank statement and saw that we had a debit charge for $11.99 and the name it showed was TLG*TRVLADV416. I couldn't figure out what it was for and my husband was not at home at the time so I circled it and continued on. I came across another charge for $11.99 but this one showed TLG*SHOPPER416. This time I got very concerned. I scanned the statement and there was a third charge for the same amount to TLG*TRVLADV416. My husband called the bank the next day and was given an 800 number to call. When he called he was told that we had "it" free for 90 days and since we had not cancelled "it" we were being charged. They said that in order to have the charge taken off, we would have to send a letter and a copy of our statement. He also found out that TLG*TRVLADV416 was from making the reservations in June. When he asked about the TLG*SHOPPER416 he was told that that was something different. Now, we are having to have our debit card cancelled and a new one issued. Something should really be done about this!
