I had bought a one way ticket at least a month in advance to England. However, three days before I should have been leaving, the agency called and told me that I was not allowed to have a one way ticket.
I had never heard of such a thing and I'd been to all sorts of offices to take care of what I've needed to. Passport & visa offices, the Denton County Clerk and I'd walked up to the office with a document that provided the information of what's needed for a trip to England. Along with many other countries.
Some of the countries did say that they required return/onward tickets. However, England was not one of them. I'd told Kaye (the manager) that the paper was from the Denton County Clerk office so I would trust that document. Yet, she told me the Denton County Clerk - mind you, this is where they issued my passport - (I would think they'd know what they were on about!) - would not know much about travel or anything about England.
I was also advised by the travel agent I now deal with that this is a case of errors & omissions. If they knew that I should not have bought a one way ticket, they should not have sold it to me. They should have informed me of so.
I had paid $437 for this ticket and yet only received $137 of it back.
