Worldwide travel center is a complete ripoff. The co. Offers "free" travel incentives for businesses.in my case, I joined a fitness, they gave me a travel voucher from wtc. The brochure stated I had to book travel with a 30 day notice. I tried to book a reservation 40 days in advance over the phone. I was told to send in a legal letter authorizing the resort to charge my credit card number along with a $50 refundable fee.
There was no notice of a legal letter in the travel voucher brochure, and apparently they sent my letter back ten days later stating it was not written correctly. Although it was past the 30 day deadline, I was assured my reservation was booked by several people over the phone. Well, I called back a week later after I sent in the corrected letter, and apparently, the reservation is not valid because it's past the 30 day deadline. I also found out, that you have to attend some kind of timeshare presentation, which was never mentioned in the brochure. I still haven't used the travel voucher and it seems unlikely I ever will get to, since the business hides behind shady wording and deceptive practices. What wtc is doing is barely legal, and this is the whole point.
Hmmmm. Well, I was naive and thought because the fitness center was legit, so was the incentive. I even talked to people who had supposedly used the travel voucher and they assured me it was legit. Apparently, world wide travel center is only interested in taking your money, time, and identity without delivering on the goods. Because of this experience and having read previous reports, I am switching my bank account numbers and canceling my credit cards.
They should be prosecuted to the fullest extent, and this is why I hate telemarketers and timeshare advertisers
