I was stupid and naive enough fall for this scam. I called in and a very pushy representative convinced me to charge $698 to Visa. I gave him my visa and was charged.
I called in late that day and asked for a full refund and no further payments be made to my credit card. Luckily I got a very bored sounding representative and he cancelled everything without any complaints, or sarcastic remarks (thank god for job dissatisfaction)
I also asked to be taken off the mailing list and off their calling list. They told me that my refund will show up on my credit card within 7-10business days. I did not have to file a complaint.
I called Mastercard and they let me know that as long as i called in (to the scammers) to ask for a refund and they agree, all i need is the name of the employee, employee number, cancellation code, and time I called. If they do not refund my money MasterCard will refund my money for me.
I don't know about the states, but mastercard in canada has certainly impressed me at this point
