I had first called Hotwire and they had great deals, however you would need a creditcard on you when you would arrive at the hotel. Therefore their agent suggested to call the hotels individually and ask how their procedures are done (we do not have our own cards, therefore we used my mothers for the hotel reservation). I then called roomstay and they said that no security funds would be needed upon arrival everything would be put onto my mothers card. I had also asked for a hotel within 5 miles of the airport. The hotel had agreed with roomstay saying that they did not need a card for security funds either.
Well that was all wrong, the hotel was 18kms away from the airport and my husband's taxi cost 60$. Upon his arrival to the hotel, the employe said that the room was not paid for (when my husband had a confirmation number) and that the credit card number that my husband had did not match their records. That is because when u book a room with roomstay we pay them and then they pay the hotel. Therefore u need to have ur own card to put you security funds on. I was not impressed because I got a phone call at 430am because my husband could not go into his room due to miscommunication and wrong information giving.
I did call roomstay and put in a complaint and demanded a percentage back from my reservation. It costed my husband 220$ for my husband to have his room and a taxi back and forth, which is ridiculous for a 8 hr sleep!.
I did get 20% back from my room, but I think we should have gotten more. When an agent gives out wrong information and about the area and the person has never been there, It is a big problem and scary!
I will not EVER book with these guys anymore. Why should we have wrong info, pay a 9.95$ fee for their help and have people from India (situated in the actual country) help us Canadians/americans book hotels in our own countries!
