Travelocity incompetence and unwillingness

I recently tool a trip back to my former home state of Alabama from Texas where I have recently moved. I booked a room at LaQuinta in Iowa, Louisiana a week before our trip via travelocity. I booked in advance because this would be during spring break and I new availability would be an issue if I waited too late. My card was charged and the payment was processed. After driving for 8 hours, my family and I get to the LaQuinta around 11PM to find our room was given away. The attendent said "travelocity's" card number was rejected. Ie: didn't have sufficient funds to cover the room. (not my card, but travelocity's card number). She said this is not uncommon. I call travelocity customer service and get an unapologetic "sorry", they will refund me but I will have to find another place to stay on my own. I then demand they find me a room instead. I get a "there are none in the area"... They see a crappy motel in a city another hour down the highway, but they can't book it, I will have to call and try to book it myself. I get to the dirty/unsafe cheap motel and did get a room to stay. The following Monday I call Travelocity Customer Service and ask to speak to a manager, after a couple of tries I get one who once again just says unapologetically "sorry, you have been refunded." I will never use travelocity again!
