Flamingo Adventures - Flamingo Adventures

Pura Vida Justin!!! Say hi to Emma for all of us!!!

While visiting the Guanacaste area of Costa Rica we had the pleasure to meet with Justin from Flamingo Adventures and we booked all of the tours of our group with Justin. He met and went beyond any of our expectations for each of the tours! Justin is a local (Ontario) Canadian residing in Costa Rica and this made us feel quite comfortable using his services since he is aware of the safety standards of Canada!

Justin arranged for our group of 27 people to go out for a day of fun and adventure on the Lazy Lizard Catamaran Sailing (lazylizardsailing.com) which included an understandable and complete safety guideline for the tour, snorkeling in the bay with a Costa Rican guide who was excellent! We were shown blowfish up close, many puffer fish and had a sea turtle swim right under us in our group!

For those that were not into the snorkeling they provided pool noodles or life jackets to use to swim ashore the deserted beach and explore. There were 2 kayaks available to use around the bay and once the activities were done there was fresh fruit and sandwiches to revitalize us for the sunset cruise back to the Riu in Guanacaste. There was a steady supply of alcoholic drinks to quench our thirst and music to dance to along with fishing poles on the back of the boat to fish with as we were sailing for the fishermen in the group.

Along the way we had the ultimate experience of a group of at least 20 dolphins if not more swimming beside and in front of the catamaran. As I sat on the bow the dolphins swam so close I could almost touch them with my feet! There were 3 baby dolphins in the group and they stayed with the boat until we turned into the bay and we observed a group of Manta Rays jumping out of the water ahead of us!

The overall experience of this tour was so unreal, the scenery was one deserted beach after another and the captain and his staff were very knowledgeable and fun! (supplying me with vinegar to sooth a jelly fish sting which didn't really hurt for too long it was just like a bee sting). At sunset being our 25th wedding anniversary my hubby and I had a photo shoot of us making a heart with our arms with the sunset inside at the suggestion of the captain which topped off a wonderful day for all!

The next tour a few in our group went ATVing and Ziplining and had a blast while a group of us went on a River Tour to see the white faced monkeys and many other native species. The boat tour guide was well versed in the wildlife of the area and was able to answer any and all questions we threw at him. He and the captain had a good eye for scoping out the wildlife along the way. The van driver Alex was a great navigator of the roads and we felt safe in his care, he stopped to show us howler monkeys, a Scarlet McCaw in the trees, explained the need for termites and their nests and stopped at a Tico restaurant for a great Tico meal on the way home. He even took us into a local Supermarcado to purchase coffee and he stopped at a fruit stand to get coconuts to drink!

I would highly recommend Justin from Flamingo Adventures to help with arranging your tours while in Costa Rica! Thank you Justin and we look forward to many more adventures when we return. Justin's contact information is: [email protected] and [email protected]
