In May I requested a 1 GB data package bolt on onto my existing MTN contract. I was invoiced for the 1 GB data package and paid by debit order. I used data on my new Nokia Lumia 920 phone, since my Blackberry was replaced after irreparable damage - therefore no longer having the problems of Blackberry but also not the BIS. My data usage was 391 MB - less than 1GB. When I received my invoice in June I was surprised to be billed R 480 for data usage (of course due to the data usage my call charges were also exaggerated). I paid for a 1 GB data package and expected to not pay for data usage. I contacted MTNSP via e-mail only to be given a standard answer which ignored my effort to fully explain the answer I require. The local Selcourt MTN employees tried to assist me (admirably) and were able to determine that for some unknown reason the 1 GB data bundle was never activated on the network, despite being charged for it. This is a simple case of not receiving the services asked and paid for, and then being charged for services. When complaining I get the run-around. Charges for June need to be revisited in light of the 1 GB bundle that should have been used for data usage.
