Scottsdale Athletic Club (formerly known as Scottsdale Racquet Club) is owned by Robert and Alice Hing. The Hings have a reputation for mistreating their employees as well as their guests. They are users and abusers of people. They have taken advantage of long-term employees.instead of saying that business is slowing down (as I would imagine it would under their management), they fire low paid, long time employees with trumped up accusations of "incidents" that led to the firing.
Today they fired a 76 year old woman who worked there 6 years (most of it under the federal minimum wage standard) - WITH NO NOTICE - and gave her the usual crap about something she had done to warrant firing. They have gone through most of their management help, several tennis teachers and other administrative personnel due to the inept management practices of Robert and Alice Hing.
The Hings are outrageous - and there are plenty of places to play tennis and enjoy an "athletic" atmosphere in Scottsdale, Arizona. Don't throw your money away on this place. With a management (and owner) team of Robert and Alice Hing, you'd be better off to play at the YMCA!
