Like many other people on this website, I tried to leave the gym because I did not want the 1 year commitment. To keep me on board, I was told specifically that I could pay on a monthly cycle, the "no-commitment" policy many talk about above, and would be able to cancel at any time as long as I did it before the 15th of the month.
I asked specifically if I could do this, at which time I was given a contract to sign and rushed through the process in order to get the "pay as you go" rate. When I called to try to cancel my membership, I was told that I had signed a one year contract and I would continue to be billed on the monthly cycle. This is complete fraud and I want everyone to be aware of these kind of "monthly contracts" NYHRC will claim to provide. I'm hoping that people stop going to NYHRC completely after seeing their unwthical business practices.
