Obviously I am not alone in being scammed by the promises of Mr. Denton who represented his "Reality Ranch Military Camp" as 'a reputable organization that would support teaching young men the importance of honesty'.
All my 12 year old son learned was that working hard and saving money to get to go to a camp like this, something my son described as a 'once in a lifetime opportunity' can be taken from you in a second. Unless we can figure out a way to get his money back for him, which I'm sure Mr. Denton is banking on us not succeeding to do all the way from Texas my son won't get to go to any camp this summer!
I purchased non-refundable plane tickets and hiking shoes, just like everybody else did only to get the same telephone call stating that they were not having the camp this year and they aren't sure when (or if) a refund would be available. It's certainly not like he didn't get his money months ago, from us anyway!
If anyone has a suggestion I am more than willing to try to work together with other parents who fell for this fraud. My hope is that we might protect others who might be considering this camp for their son.
