Ripoff, doubled my work and charged me, said he did more than he really did, misleading to me on the phone

I took a used 95 Speedster there for repair; left engine was bogging at 4500rpm.

I worked on it swapping carbs, rectifiers, coils, plugs, wires and check compression. Finally after a month I decided to take it to a certified mechanic. I gave him a list of everything I already did so he wouldn't repeat work already done, who want to pay for repeat work.

After a week he said he was still looking that it was a tuff one. The next week he said he couldn't find anything wrong, that there was some scoring on the rotary valve and was going to try a new one.

The 3rd week he said he was waiting for the rotary valve still.

The 4th week he said it still ran bad, implying he changed it, so he pulled the head off and the pistons were bad, all pitted and the ring looked like they were about to come out.

He said it needed bored and new pistons, basically a top end rebuild. Well I said I could do that, I have been a car mechanic for years and 20 years as a jet engine mechanic, Air Force Retired, not problem.

I picked it up on 21 Aug 06 took the pistons and cylinders off that night. After taking to a machine shop they looked at the pistons and said you have more wrong than pistons. So I pulled the motor out and the crank shaft has two bad bearing that are spinning on the crank. The pieces of the bearing cage are what beat up the piston. Also after I removed the engine I could tell, and the second mechanic could tell that the rotary valve had never been touched. The paint was still on the head of the bolts. I paid Advantage Endeavors $200, for almost nothing.

When I called him about it he got very pissed of saying he checked everything I did and never changed the rotary valve, he pulled the head off and saw the pistons and stopped. His story changed and he charged me to redo all the work I did already, that's why I gave him the list so that he wouldn't redo the work.

Then I stated I feel like putting a stop payment on the check because all he really did that wasn't a repeat was pulled the head off.

Then he started to bad mouth me and stating I wasn't a very good mechanic and that it's a good thing I'm not working on jet engines anymore. Now I never bad mouthed him but this was totally uncalled for, I feel like he pulled the head off and sat on it for a while to charge me money.

He probably did recheck everything but that's why I gave him the list, to not redo it. He never once said that there were bad bearing, even on the receipt it says bad pistons so he didn't even troubleshoot it right and I paid $200 for that. If he would have changed the cylinders and pistons the bad bearings would have taken them out in a few hours.

Now as a Dealer of New Sea Doo jet skis, I don't think this guy is a very good representative SeaDoo Dealers and repair mechanics. I will never buy one from a guy like that, for one I wouldn't have anywhere to take it for any work or maintenance plus his work is questionable. As he stated he was a certified bombardier mechanic, what is that saying with mechanics like that?
