This Spring I had ask around for a local gun repair shop. I was directed to the Smokey mountain Trader as the only gun repair in the area. My son 25 had a 22 rifle since he was 12 it was given to him by his dad (it had been his dad's gun when he was a boy). The site had been damaged and I wanted to have it repaired as a gift for him.
When my husband and I dropped it off we where told
when the repair was fisished they woould call and we could come pick up the gun. As life goes time went by an dI forgot about the gun for a couple of months. When I remembered I called and spoke with a Mr. Smith the same man we had left the gun with. At first he started my husband had picked up the gun. He said he had it in his records. I put him on hold and called my husband of course he had not picked up the gun. My son told me the same thing.
Then I went back to Mr. Smith his story changed and said we had left the gun for over 30 days and anything in their store for over 30 days became their property and he had SOLD my sons gun and there was nothing I could do about it. I am currently trying to file for theift in magastrate court of White county.
If there is anything anyone out there knows what to do PLEASE let me know. I have since found out that I am not the only person in Cleveland this has happened too.
