Keith sills Bad head work job, no occupational license

On December31st 2010 my mechanic took my engine to K&S to have my head resurfaced and valves repaired. I paid for the valves and head gasket. After a long delay due to slow work and promises of completion made to my mechanic, I finally got my head back on January 4 and the car was repaired and drivable on January 5. On January 8 I was driving a few blocks from my home and my car died and it sounded like the timing belt snapped and sure enough it did, after my mechanic installed a new timing belt that day we started the car and it was misfiring. It was due to a bent valve which was just repaired a week before by K&S.

When I spoke to the owner and asked him to pay for a new head gasket and valves and head bolts he said no because he felt that the job he did was done correct and was not due to his work. Well when the head was given back I found out that they did not replace the cam seals which should usually be replaced. My mechanic asked the technician that did the work if the seals looked ok and he said yes. What caused the timing belt to break was a carbon build up that we discovered after removing the head again and the valve was stuck and the valve seal popped out which in turn ceased the engine and snapped the timing belt.

The owner of K&S said he would put the head gasket back on at no cost but he would not pay for the valves and the timing belt that I needed to buy at a cost of 45.00 extra for the timing belt. He is not even willing to knock off some money from the 194.00; I just paid for a week before. I have seen the carbon on the head myself and have pictures of it. My mechanic said that if the engine was cleaned properly this buildup should have not been there. He made me pay 66.25 on January 11 for an additional 8 valves for which I had just paid for a week before. He did not want to meet us even half way on the cost

I have since found out that his company has not paid his taxes since 2009 according to the Hillsborough County Tax Collector and I cannot find and Occupational license that he should have.
