I bought a 1964 Impala for $31,000. The orange tag you see hanging from the rear view mirrors on all their cars on their lot, stating the work that has been done on the car stated "Here is a every nut and bolt frame off restoration. No expense spared" Which was a lie, the first time I took this car for a drive, it smoked so bad, I took it to a mechanic.
The major problem being the engine was not bored properly, which caused the piston rings to score the engine block, leaking oil up onto the pistons and burning the oil. So the engine ended up having to be re bored and new pistons put in. It has cost me $5000. To get it fixed. I made several trips to Kompact Kar Korner to talk to them and let them know of the problems I was having, (I live over 2 hours away) and got the run around each time. Then I was told the engine was over revved and it was my fault. When we last spoke Jim Amundsen, offered me $500. When I showed him photos and original bills on what I spend to get the car in working order. (which I think was to just to try and get rid of me) needless to say, I haven't heard from him or seen a cent from him since.
