I ordered a product from Home Depot online and was given a delivery date of November 28th, approximately 19 days later. I thought this was quite a wait but decided that it was ok.
Following the event logs that show where the package travels, it eventually ended up in Hayward, California on the 8th of November, 9 days after my order date. I was excited, thinking that maybe my package would be delivered earlier than the estimated date.
Alas, this was not to be. My delivery date was set for the 28th of November and was unchanged when I checked on the 26th. When my package did not arrive between 2:00 and 6:00 P.M., I went back online to find out what had happened. Imagine my surprise when I found the delivery time had been changed to December 3rd.
As this product was for an elderly client, who had been very patient up to this point, I contacted, through Home Depot, nonstop delivery. I was told that a truck had broken down and rather than rent a u-haul or whatever to take care of the problem, my delivery was delayed.
After extended phone conversations, I was told that they were indeed going to take care of this for me and deliver my package that day. Man was I relieved. Well, I was relieved on instead. I received a call from the company an hour later informing me that my product had been broken and all they could do now was to file a claim. I don't believe that it was broken until I made such a stink on getting it delivered.
I contacted Home Depot and reordered my product and requested that they not use these incompetent people. They are reshipping my package with someone else and at their cost. Guess they don't think about everyone else that their incompetence affects.
I found out today that one of their hubs is not even 20 miles away from me. Had they told me, I could have picked it up myself.
I will never use these people again, ever.
