DO NOT USE Movex International ripoff

I have just learned that Movex International is the fourth in a series of scams run by Sharon Fachler, who has fled to Israel from the FBI to escape indictment. Thanks to the internet, he can go on scamming people to his cyber-content. Sharon Fachler has done this three times now: first Moving Services.net, then Moving Star, then Moving Services, now Movex International. Check out other complaints on these companies here and on other consumer web sites.

Moving Services recently left dozens of fresh victims stranded, without their goods, having collected full payment for national and international moves and then extorted more money under threat of nondelivery. Many of us have paid many times over for this non-move. Some of us still don't know where our things are. All this company did was take our money and our things. They did not pay their agents. All they did was steal our money and our belongings.

Since Bush deregulated the moving industry, it is very easy for crooks to open licensed, bonded, and insured moving brokerages, take your money, claim bankruptcy, and start again. The sad thing is that this company is not original or alone. There are many many of these scam compannies—check out the FBI's movescam web site for Southeast Florida. It's the tip of the iceberg.

123movers.com is not a reliable place to find movers—it advertises for these scam artists welcoming them back into the crooked fold over and over again.

These crooks and others like them will offer you an unbelieveably good rate. They will be professional and helpful and courteous until they have your money and your things. Then they will hit you up for an unbelievably inflated charge and threaten you if you don't pay. If you protest, they won't answer your calls or e-mails. They will not tell you where your things are. Then, when the law is hot on their trail, they shut down, claim bankruptcy, and start all over again. You could lose all your earthly possessions to them and pay them thousands to do so. Burglars won't steal your photo albums, but these scam artists will. They don't care. They prey on people in the most vulnerable and stressful situations—people traveling thousands of miles from home. Because international shipments take weeks, it's a long time before you know you've been scammed. They typically choose a name that sounds like a major company—Movex International is not the same as Movex.

The FBI is cracking down on them, and arrests are going to be made, but consumers need to be vigilant. Be sure your company has a physical address (the Miami police went to Moving Service's so-called business address and found no office there and it's the same for Movex International).

The BBB recommends that you start with a local company who will come to your house, whose office you can locate, and let them link up with international agents. It will cost less, not more, to do it this way. I lost everything I own and paid thousands to do so.
