We arranged to have Movex transport our household goods in a move from State College, PA. To Olympia, WA.in January of this year.
When the truck arrived in Olympia, WA. On Jan. 3, the contents inside were soaked with water from a large gash in the top of the truck. Per Movex's advice, we filed a claim, along with photographic evidence, with Movex for 1800. Dollars to cover the cost of replacing a couch, a futon, and 2 beds that could not be dried out. After months of calls to check on the status of my claim to Rob Eisler at (800) 876-6839 he informed me on March 13, that the trucking company they contracted with (Yellow Transportation) was settling our claim with a 200. Check.
I explained that the 200. Would barely cover the cost of disposing of the ruined items but Rob Eisler at Movex insists they are not responsible even though we paid 1,793. Dollars to Movex for our move.
On March 20 we received a letter from Rob saying he would send a check for 200. From Yellow but we had to sign a release "discharging them from any claims whatsoever." We haven't signed and returned the letter on principle but instead responded with a letter again stating our dissatisfaction for the terrible way everything was handled. We haven't heard anything back.
