Blundering ill stress compensation sought ignorant unprofessional Richmond Upon Thames

After some unrelated fraudulent activity on my bank account, I was advised by my bank to cancel my debit card, which I did. I then noticed what I assumed (as it turns out wrongfully) was odd activity on my bank account by Paypal, so I cancelled the direct debit I had set up for them. This resulted in Paypal bouncing several payments I made to Ebay sellers. I called to ask Paypal how to sort this out and the person I spoke to informed me that it would be sorted out automatically once I instructed Paypal to take the outstanding funds from my bank account - this turned out to be a lie.

I had previously and subsequently sent many emails regarding this issue, because I wanted it resolved quickly. Not one of those emails was replied to or even acknowledged. Clearly they did not want to do anything to help.in the meantime, the sellers whose payments were in dispute accused me of being a fraud, a liar and a criminal. I have a mental condition similar to bipolar, and needless to say, all of this ignorance and unwillingness to help on their part has caused me a great deal of distress.

Yesterday I got an email from Paypal informing me that they had taken my bank account details off of their system altogether. So I called once again and thankfully this time got to speak to someone who knew what they were taking about and was very helpful - this lady reinstated my bank account on Paypal's system, set up a new direct debit, and talked me through paying the outstanding fees to my Paypal account. I explained that nobody had answered any of my emails and she agreed that this was a disgraceful way to run a business; I told her I would be seeking compensation for the trouble and stress caused to both myself and the sellers involved, and I wanted reimbursing for the calls I had to make.

I thought all was now fine.

Imagine then my utter horror and disgust this morning when I woke up to find another email in my inbox from their debt collectors this time, claiming I still owe them money - this is also a lie. My account balance is zero, exactly as it was yesterday. I'm afraid I lost patience and sent them back a rather rude email. Later today, I got a second email from them, regarding my intention to bill them for the calls I had to make to get any sense out of them; their arrogant response was, 'Making the calls was your choice and we won't be paying'. I informed them that they left me with no choice but to call, as every single email I have sent in the past two weeks has been ignored and surprise surprise, they haven't replied to that either.

During the time this has been ongoing, I have been unable to bid on many Ebay items I was watching - many of which were Christmas gifts - and I have been accused of all kinds of things I am not guilty of. ALL this was caused by the incompetence of the first telephone support person I spoke to, who misinformed me completely.

I am now in my bed sick with stress and have started smoking again due to the emotional torment their ignorance, arrogance and complete lack of care has caused me. Several sellers were left out of pocket for a fortnight. I should not have had to spend my pittance of an income (I'm on disability benefits, so I can't afford to lay out what money I do have to fix problems caused by their ineptitude) sorting out an issue that they should have sorted out weeks ago.

I maintain that they owe me for those phone calls and I intend to send them an invoice; they haven't had a single problem emailing me when THEY want money, yet when I need something from them they couldn't care less.

I really hope you can help. All this has not only made me unwell, but also ruined my Diwali which is an important time of year for Hindus, and not a time when I should be getting myself this upset.
