Contract for formal wear was entered in with Gingiss. Gingiss employees perhaps had no idea their company was soon to be sold and the purchasing company is Afterhours Formal Wear. When a company purchases another company, they assumed the assets and the liabilities, which means they assume the contracts and all the terms of the other company.
Afterhours did not. First the Gingiss employee stated pick up can be done anytime the day the ticket shows. Does not have to be after 5 PM as the clothing is shipped during the night and is available first when they open. There may be a wait in the morning as they are getting organized.
Afterhours manager states Gingiss was incorrect but that employee was no longer employed so they could not verify. The manager also stated there was no way to deliver as he was the only one present all day. The manager then gives a disconnected number for his regional manager. Two back to back lies.
Seconds later another employee with a nametag walks in and walks past and when asked states that the regional manager who was there all morning and the manager explains the phones at corporate are being worked on and that is why they are disconnected. Later tried corporate office and this regional manager is not even listed.
Return later to again pick up the formal wear. Was given "TEST CLOTHES". Test clothes are explained by this same manager and an employee that they are not the clothes you need but are test and may only fit one aspect but not any other aspect of a body. Example-a shirt will fit around the neck but not in sleeve length or overall length. Vest can be 9 sizes to big, as long at it can be buttoned it is considered to fit. Tailoring/cuts are horrid. Clothes are dirty-grease on clothing and bags.
Jacket is so poorly cut, tailored and pressed that there is no description of this. Two buttons on the jacket do not match. The button holes are uneven cut and don't line up. The pressing of the lapels is terrible and off. Gingiss employee stated the tailoring on the jacket is sleeve length, sides/back taken in or let out accordingly.
Afterhours just does sleeves and it is the worst tailoring job that is possible. Jacket is dirty and poorly pressed. Jacket does not fit in arms and pits. Extremely tight due to poor cut of the sleeves. Requested company due to their error immediately replace and deliver new jacket in the morning. The lying manager continues to state this can not be done and refuses to call his regional manager who I do not believe to be a manager.
Other persons in the wedding party and this is a very large wedding party, all were told by Gingiss employees that pick up is any time on the date on the ticket. Does not have to be after 5 PM. They were told by male and female employees that Afterhours purchased and it is clear that Afterhours has no clue what they purchased and what the other employees were stating.
Other persons in the wedding party received "TEST CLOTHES" as well and were told they would have to return back the next day to pick up their "REAL" clothes. Other persons in the wedding party were given wrong color and accessories, missing items of clothing. Almost all the bags were coated with grease getting grease on everyone's hands. And the same manager lied to everyone, one at a time, all day long.
When a company including After Hours takes over another company they need to honor the other company's terms. It is their responsibility to find out what those terms were and honor all terms.
While I was at the store, there were a dozen plus other persons also complaining and upset on similar issues.
It appears this company NEEDS to be avoided.
