I was preparing to go on a cruise... And contacted the nickallans.com web site... To see about ordering a tux.
I called the store and talked to the owner Nick Bonomo about the need for a tux... He told me that i could order one from him, and return it if it didnt fit or if i didnt like it.
I ordered a Hickey Freeman Tuxedo on 8/18/00. About a week latter i called Nick and told him that i was also looking for shirts & bow ties for same trip... He offered to send me some... And told me that i could return them if they didnt work out. No conditions were noted in his offer, and infact he made is sound like it would be no problem at all.
On 8/25 he sent me $800 of shirts, ties, and a waist coat. I received these items at the end of Ausgust, or early Sept.
When i received the package i was shocked at the cost. And when i looked at the items he sent me i made up my mind to return all the items.
I packaged the items & the prior Tux and returned them to Nick in their origial packages. This was done on or around Sept. 14th. At the end of september I received a credit slip from the store dated September 18th.
The credit slip included restocking charges... When i called Nick he told me it was because i waited to long to return the items. When i explained that the paper trail shows i had the products about two weeks, and with he in Oregon, and me in North Carolina... There was several additional days for the product to get to me and for me to send it back.
He then told me that the products were damaged upon return, i asked in what way? He was vague, and ultimatley couldn't be sure that was the reason he assessed the restocking fees... Then told me it was the time i had it... Took too long to return it..
This guy sent me over a thousand dollars of clothing with the warranty that i could return them... He never disclosed the fees... If you do business with this man watch out!!!
And i would certainly not recommend buying anything on-line from this store.
