Just before the end of my AT&T Wireless contract, I switched to another carrier. When I called to say that I was not renewing my contract, I was told a $175 termination fee would be imposed. I said that was ridiculous. I wasn't terminating my contract, I simply wasn't renewing it. After some phone calls I finally got to a supervisor and was told that the $175 termination fee would not be applied.
So I get my bill and the $175 fee is waived. But then I see that they have tacked on an additional month's service charge, $29.99, to my final bill! I called, and after going through several people I was told that the charge was "agreed to" by me. It was not! I was simply ending my contract and don't owe a penny, and I have a tape recording to prove it.
